This comprehensive training program is designed to equip supervisors with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively recognize, address, and manage substance abuse issues in the workplace. The course covers both Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and promoting a safe, drug-free environment. Credits: 1 hour drug training & 1 hour alcohol training Key Topics: Drug and Alcohol Testing Requirements: Understanding the substances commonly tested for (both DOT and Non-DOT panels) and their effects on workplace safety and performance. Recognizing Signs of Substance Abuse: Identifying physical, behavioral, and psychological indicators of drug and alcohol use, as well as how to document observations effectively. Reasonable Suspicion Training: Learning how to assess and address reasonable suspicion of impairment in employees, including the appropriate steps to take and how to handle sensitive situations. Testing Procedures: Detailed guidance on different types of drug and alcohol tests (urine, oral fluid, hair follicle, and breath alcohol testing), ensuring proper documentation, and understanding employee rights and responsibilities. By the end of this program, supervisors will be well-prepared to manage substance abuse concerns, enforce testing policies, and contribute to a safer and more productive workplace. The training also includes real-world scenarios, role-playing exercises, and a final exam to assess understanding, ensuring that participants are fully capable of applying what they’ve learned in their day-to-day responsibilities.
